A Tailored Peel for Clearer, More Refined Skin
Chemical peels are a targeted skin treatment designed to refresh the surface of the skin and encourage a smoother, more even-looking complexion. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, a bespoke peel can be selected around your skin type, concerns and treatment goals.
At Janine Smith Aesthetics, chemical peels can be used to support skin that looks dull, congested, uneven or tired. They may also be recommended for clients concerned with blemishes, pigmentation, rough texture or early signs of ageing. The aim is to create a fresher, healthier-looking finish while keeping the treatment appropriate for your skin.

What to Expect During Your Chemical Peel
A chemical peel involves applying a carefully selected solution to the skin to help loosen and lift away tired surface cells. This encourages skin renewal and can leave the complexion looking smoother, clearer and more even over time.
Before your peel, Janine will assess your skin and talk through your concerns, current skincare routine and any previous treatments. This is important because not every peel is suitable for every skin type, and your skin may need to be prepared or treated gently depending on sensitivity, pigmentation risk or active breakouts.
During the treatment, you may feel mild tingling, warmth or tightness on the skin. The level of sensation and any peeling afterwards will depend on the type of peel used and how your skin responds. Some peels create very little visible shedding, while others may cause light flaking for a few days.
Aftercare is an important part of the process. Janine will advise you on how to care for your skin after treatment, including using SPF, avoiding harsh active ingredients for a short period and keeping the skin hydrated while it settles. A course of treatments may be recommended for best results, particularly where the goal is to improve tone, texture, blemishes or pigmentation gradually.
